Management information systems for KMG Goods

A Management information system (MIS) gives a business an advantage by researching in information to increase and maximise profit, resources and efficiency. I am going to use my KMG Goods enterprise as an example to explain and show how KMG Goods use management information systems and why:

Marketing
Within KMG Goods used the information systems to produce reports at the end of the week informing me of the profit I made and what products have or haven’t been selling well. From this I can use the system further to decide on the best action to take when trying to advertise the company and bring more customers in.

Sales performance
The enterprise can use the same reports and systems to review the current sales to identify if I need to order more of a certain product or if another product is not selling well so the price needs to be reduced or completely removed from the shelves.

Competitors
There are other similar sports shops and competitors within a 10 mile radius of KMG Goods so the business uses resources such as the internet which I can interpret the information enter it into KMG Goods management information system to find out competitors’ products and prices to match or lower mine and gain a commercial advantage.

When comparing this information to the business's own records the results can be passed on to marketing to help us draw in the customers.

Financial
Again KMG Goods could use the weekly reports to view my financial status using spreadsheets and databases. The enterprise could use the system to forecast if it was going to make a profit or not and if so KMG Goods could maybe purchase a loan to invest into advertisement or different stock.

Human Resources

Using the information system in terms of human resources the business can see how my employees are working and weather they are motivated, have adequate amount of sales and customers are satisfied with their service.
