and justify what I was or wasn't going to do here are some of the main inputs
of information I received:

Management information systems for KMG Goods
A Management information system
(MIS) gives a business an advantage by researching in information to increase
and maximise profit, resources and efficiency. I am going to use my KMG Goods enterprise as an example to explain and show how KMG Goods use management information systems and why:
Marketing
Within KMG Goods used the information systems
to produce reports at the end of the week informing me of the profit I made and
what products have or haven’t been selling well. From this I can use the system
further to decide on the best action to take when trying to advertise the
company and bring more customers in.
Sales performance
The enterprise can use the same
reports and systems to review the current sales to identify if I need to order
more of a certain product or if another product is not selling well so the
price needs to be reduced or completely removed from the shelves.
Competitors
There are other similar sports shops and
competitors within a 10 mile radius of KMG Goods so the business uses resources such as the internet which I can interpret the information enter it into KMG Goods management information
system to find out competitors’ products and prices to match or lower mine and
gain a commercial advantage.
When comparing this information to the business's own records the results can be passed on to marketing to help us draw in the customers.

Financial
Again KMG Goods could use the weekly
reports to view my financial status using spreadsheets and databases. The enterprise could
use the system to forecast if it was going to make a profit or not and if so KMG Goods could
maybe purchase a loan to invest into advertisement or different stock.
Human Resources
Using the information system
in terms of human resources the business can see how my employees are working and weather
they are motivated, have adequate amount of sales and customers are satisfied
with their service.
Promoting the new “click” service (P7,M3)
The tools used in the creation of information:
I was tasked to research where the best possible place for the roadshow to promote the new “click” service of the small business game. I had to deliberate different locations and decide where the best location would be in consideration of making the best impact to the target audience.

Using information(P1,D1)
Here
is my poster explaining how organisations use information within the business
such as how Sainsbury’s track their sales with bar-codes and automatically order
more products from the manufacturer when they are needed. I also explain
how businesses use information to create forecasts to predict what and how much
of a product will be bought to accommodate with the amount of stock they have.

Good Information (P2)
When relating to a small business they need to think about
getting good information very differently. My poster here you
can find how I explained the Characteristics of good information.
Valid and Reliable
Valid and reliable information is crucial as a small
business cannot afford to receive information that is falsified not being able
to trust the information given when it is needed most. For
example a small business has found research and information from years ago,
this data may no longer be reliable for use in the current market such as
buying trends from 5 years ago.
Accessible
Good information in a small business needs to be accessible
as they do not have the resources or money to be able to invest in a high
amount of information research. Most likely a small team or 1 person will
research this information and they need information that is easy to get.
Timely and Relevant
Again with the small amount of resources a small business
will have, they need the information to be relevant to the subject they are
trying to research. The information also needs to be up to date because they cannot
research this information multiple times as funds will simply not allow it.
Cost effective
The most important factor for a small business will be the
cost of the information they are receiving, there is no point the business reaching
a topic that they firstly cannot afford or will not give the information they
need or deserve for the cost.
Understandable
The same factors apply when relating to the understandable information.
A small business cannot simply just waste money on information they cannot understand
or does not make sense. This would not be an efficient investment and could
lead to their demise.
